#AceNewsReport – Nov.02: PayPal ‘unusual activity’ email SCAM attempts to dupe users – don’t fall for this hacking hoax//Mirror
Paypal users are being targeted by a convincing email scam attempting to get access to their online funds.
Hackers are sending out official-looking emails that contain links to a fake login site – designed to steal a user’s password and security answers.
The messages use PayPal’s famous logo and design to dupe users into thinking it’s genuine.
The “phishing” attack goes on to say: “We’re concerned that someone is using your PayPal account without your knowledge.”
The email demands that you login to change your password.
Even if the email address appears to look genuine, it’s a hoax and shouldn’t be trusted.
PayPal says it is actively “committed to helping shut down these sites and ensure that you’re able to spot phishing immediately.”
